Tuesday September 13th: "Celebrating John F. Deane"

Time: 7.30pm Admission: Free but prior booking essential. People without tickets will not be admitted.

Details: The Irish Writers' Centre will be hosting a night of Celebration of John F. Deane's poetry, with readings from the poet himself and also from Eileen BattersbyPadraig J. DalyEnda McDonaghThomas KinsellaJohn McHugh,Maurice HarmonSeamus Heaney and Gerard Smyth.

 

 

Tuesday, September 20th: Book Launch: "Ireland Is Changing Mother" by Rita Ann Higgins

Time: 7.30pm

Newly released by Bloodaxe Books, Ireland Is Changing Mother is the latest collection from Rita Ann Higgins: provocative and heart-warming poems of high jinx, jittery grief and telling social comment by a gutsy, anarchic chronicler of the lives of the Irish dispossessed, before as well as since the demise of the Celtic tiger.

 

Wednesday, September 21st: Launch of the inaugural Irish Writers' Centre Novel Fair.

Time: 7pm

The inaugural Irish Writers’ Centre Novel Fair for first-time novelists will take place on March 10th 2012. The Novel Fair aims to introduce up-and-coming writers to top publishers and literary agents, giving novelists the opportunity to bypass the slush pile, pitch their ideas and place their synopsis and sample chapters directly into the hands of publishers and agents. Dermot Bolger will read from his upcoming novel!

Wednesday, September 28th: Lonely Voice Readings

Time: 7pm

 Winners of the monthly Lonely Voice Short Story Competition will read their work
